Selalunya I suka baca buku Sydney Sheldon, Stephen King...Tak pernah pun baca buku 'chick lit style' ni. Saja-saja beli buku ni masa pergi MPH with my mum...masa CNY...and kebetulan buku ni ada SALE 20%. Lagipun ramai la kawan2 suruh I baca buku ni...sebab I suka shopping. Hmmm...konpius ni...kenapa la depa suruh baca buku ni sangat...
The book follows Rebecca Bloomwood who is deep in debt solely because of her shopping excesses. The irony of all, she is a financial journalist writing for Successful Savings magazine.
The result = It got me hooked on Sophie Kinsella.Whushhh..This not a really deep book. Tapi baca buku ni macam tengok my all time favourite 'The Nanny' kat TV.Ramai orang tak suka cerita ni because of the voice and accent, tapi I suka. " la la la...She was working in a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens until her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes..." .
I think that most females will find themselves in Rebecca atau Becky, watak utama buku ni. I bet most of us have thought once or twice on the same lines as Becky does bila dia try to excuse untuk beli barang mahal tapi tak practical langsung. :).Her justification for buying things are hilarious and the scene where she was trying to make her own curry made me laugh so hard! Scene ni just cracks me up because I've done the same thing she did bila cuba resepi yang susah and ntah hapa2.
This would probably be a good read for true shopaholics. My husband always told me that I had a serious shopping problem, and when I read Confessions of a Shopaholic I was horrified because I realized how incredibly close my life related to hers. The situations she got into made me LOL and worried in the same time because I had done a number of them , contohnya buying things because in the long run it would save me money : buy 2 free1, hiding my shopping bags from family especially from my mum and now from my husband , tak boleh nampak kedai yang ada sale :mark and spencer, nine west,guess, free gift.
For me, the book was completely believable and made me laugh because I'd been in her shoes at least 50 percent...but in other ways , tak seteruk Becky . Mintak dijauhkan.
If you like to shop....this book is for you! Maksu, Suhai, Haniza...apa lagi...hihi.
